Book Review: Skeleton Key

Hey all!
I've been reading up a lot of Andi's work, and I wanted to get his name out to some of you who may have never heard of him before!
I just recently made my way through Skeleton Key: Vol. 1, and I'm really loving it. So I thought I'd give you some info on it to pique your interest!

Skeleton Key is a fairly extensive series that's been compiled into 5 volumes. It's one of Andi Watson's earlier works, and it doesn't quite show his trademark clean-and-simple style, but that doesn't make it any less fascinating.

Synopsis: Tasmin, a misfit at school and full of angst to boot, finds a magical key and a skeleton costume while perusing a curio shop. She soon finds this key unlocks pathways to a myriad of dimensions full of monsters and all sorts of beasties. Early on, Tasmin encounters Kitsune, a Japanese fox spirit, and accidentally brings her back to our plane of existence.
The first half of the series focuses on their adventures and hijinx in alternate universes, while the second half focuses more on Tasmin and her coming-of-age.

It really is an excellent read; the art is sufficiently spooky, with loads of delicious ink work as well as a riveting story.
I personally adore Andi's art and writing style, even in this early stage, and I thoroughly encourage all of you guys to go pick it up! You can find it for cheap used on Amazon, or check it out directly from SLG! [link]

Fun fact: It was almost made into a cartoon by Nickelodeon, but they pulled the plug before it came into fruition.

To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there's no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other.
